Area Treasurer – Job Description

 

The individual serving as treasurer should have a sound knowledge of bookkeeping (and/or accounting) and the ability to maintain accurate records. The individual should also have an understanding of the appropriate handling of funds in Al-Anon.

The responsibilities of the Area Treasurer are as follows:

The Treasurer is a voting member of the Area World Service Committee and should attend all meetings as well as Spring and Fall Assembly. The treasurer submits a written report to the AWSC and Assembly at each meeting. If the Treasurer cannot attend the report should be mailed to the Area Chairperson in advance.

Expenses such as postage, phone calls and actual gas cost may be submitted for reimbursement monthly.

 

Alternate Treasurer – Job Description

 

The Alternate Treasurer should be one of the signers on the checking account. The Alternate Treasurer should be familiar with all the duties of the Treasurer and the record keeping process in order to step in if the Treasurer is unable to complete the term or needs assistance.
